We should all strive to keep moving, playing, and behaving like children in our adult years.
WHY???
Almost every baby is born with perfect mobility; a new born can get their feet to their ears, a three-year-old squats intuitively. Watch how a four-year-old sits cross-legged with ease or how an eight-year-old races up a rope or swings from a bar.
Children aren’t bothered by the rain; they run freely every chance they get. However, as adults, we lose these abilities physically and mentally. Our bodies stiffen because we don’t move frequently and sit at desks for long periods. Running becomes a chore (especially in the rain) leading many to avoid it altogether - so typical of CrossFitters!
But, these natural attributes, which serve children so well, fade in adulthood as we overthink, worry about others’ opinions, and fear failure. As adults, we need to reclaim that childlike mentality of not giving a shit, embracing trial and error, and viewing failure not as a setback but as an opportunity to try again.
Move your body any which way that feels good.
What others think of you is none of your business
And if you fail at something learn from it and make it better.
