TAREK EL SEHRAWEY

Our ability as humans to endure and not quit is neural. Meaning it entirely comes down to our brain function. It is not 90% physical and 10% mental, it is neural. Your thoughts are what allow you to continue and ENDURE.

We sculpt our bodies, but ultimately through discipline, we build resilient minds. This starts here at Crossfit Uncommon and extends into all aspects of our lives. Let's build together.

Tarek grew up in an active household with his brothers and sisters in a small town on Cape Cod. As a first-generation American, his parents instilled one mindset in him: there was only one path to success and achievement and that was through hard work.

Playing multiple sports throughout his youth Tarek committed to soccer. Becoming a 4-year varsity athlete he captained his high school and club teams becoming a 2-year All-Cape Athlete and All-State as well as being part of the nation's first-ranked team at Worcester Academy leading the NEPSAC league to the semi-finals.

Tarek continued his winning streak at Ohio Wesleyan and then Endicott College winning the NCAC Conference Championship for the first time in the school's history earning Tarek 2 NCAA appearances.

A decade of high-level soccer taught Tarek many things but above all else discipline. Although discipline doesn't come easy, Tarek believes it can be learned. It is repeated action, calling the mind to control the urge to give in easily. Post graduation Tarek searched for ways to harness that discipline, he found it in CrossFit and never looked back.
